FOR FIFTH YEAR RUNNING, BMW ON WARD'S "10 BEST ENGINES" LIST
In
the world of automotive manufacturers, being named to the annual Ward's
"10 Best Engines" list is a high honor. Ward's gives special
recognition to powertrains that set benchmarks based on power,
technology, fuel economy, noise, and vibration.
This
year, BMW's current 3.0-liter, inline six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo made
the list - the fifth year in a row that a BMW engine has been awarded.
Code-named "N55," this is the first engine to combine turbocharging and
high-pressure direct injection with BMW's Valvetronic throttleless
intake system.
Said Tom Murphy, Ward's Editor, "For drivability and smoothness, the N55 is unparalleled."
